Working Toward a Cleaner and More Sustainable Ocean

Mission Statement

Ocean Pure is a nonprofit working toward cleaner and more sustainable ocean water. Ocean Pure uses its funds to remove trash and pollution from the ocean using various means, such as skimmers and nets. The objective is to make the ocean a safer and healthier place for marine life.

An Ocean Conservation Organization in Cape Cod, MA

Many plastics and microplastics end up in the sea and on our beaches because of littering and improper waste management. This issue has a devastating impact on the food web, human health, and climate change. That is why we at Ocean Pure—a nonprofit ocean conservation organization in Cape Cod, MA—are finding ways to solve this problem.

Microplastic Analysis and Data Collection

We have a few volunteers working with the University of Plymouth in England and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) in Massachusetts to carry out the WHOI microplastic group’s analysis of samples taken from beaches around Cape Cod. Our team conducts a survey designed to collect data without the need for expensive equipment.
